Customers Welcome New Huntington Bookstore

Booklovers welcomed the opening of a new independent bookstore Saturday, ignoring the wind and rain to come out to The Next Chapter.

Founded by Mallory Braun, a former rare book manager at the now-closed Book Revue, the store opened with the help of a series of fundraisers, with many donors eager to support the effort after the Book Revue closed in 2021.

The new store, at  204 New York Ave., a short walk north from the Book Revue, which had operated for 44 years. The bright, airy store was fully stocked, as customers shopped. Braun said the store has a second room, and that local authors will be able to do book readings and other events.

For those nostalgic for the Book Revue, there was one little surprise Saturday–purchased books were handed to customers in Book Revue bags.
