The Rite Aid store in East Northport is among the hundreds that will be closed after the company declared bankruptcy this week.
Between 400 and 500 stores are on the closing list released Tuesday by the company. It has about 2,200 stores around the country.
The East Northport store at 577 Larkfield Road is the second one to be closed in Huntington. Two weeks ago, a Rite Aid pharmacy at 695 East Jericho Turnpike, Huntington Station, closed.
Lat Sunday, the company said, “Going through Chapter 11 will help “significantly reduce the company’s debt” while helping to “resolve litigation claims in an equitable manner.”
It faces having to settle thousands of opioid-related lawsuits.
