Fireworks Shows Before the Fourth Light Up the Sky

Backyard fireworks shows continued Monday night ahead of the Fourth of July holiday when the official celebrations get underway.

The National Weather Service is forecasting showers and thunderstorm after 5 p.m., with gusty winds, and a high of 85.

There’s a parade at 10 a.m. in Eaton’s Neck, which involves a lot of firetrucks and members of the public spraying each other.

The town beaches are open.

A Grucci fireworks display on Tuesday night in the Long Island Sound off Asharoken would be “highly viewable” from Asharoken, Huntington Harbor and Northport, encouraging people not to flood into the village, where there is no on-street parking. The fireworks show scheduled for about 9:15 p.m. Watch for information on whether the forecast will cancel the show.
