Great Cow Harbor Run Going Virtual

The Great Cow Harbor 10K and 2k run, which had been scheduled for Oct. 3, will become a virtual race this year because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The prestigious race normally draws thousands of runners to Northport Village. Instead, runners  schedule their own races and then report the time to the race organizers. Runners can register for the “2020 Great Cow Harbor Run Anywhere” races as  late as Nov.29 to be counted as participants.

Runners who have already registered in anticipation of having an in-person competition can switch to the virtual race, donate their fees to the race itself or can request a refund.

The race supports several causes; this year, funds are scheduled to help Special Olympics, the Veterans Administration and a local food pantry.
