The Huntington boat parade, which was scheduled for Saturday, has been canceled.
Organizers blamed the forecast for bad weather, including high winds, for the cancellation.
The boat parade previously had been held in November and celebrated winter holiday themes, with vessels parading around Huntington Harbor, carrying Santas, Christmas trees and holiday lights.
“The Greater Huntington Boating Council and the Huntington Harbormaster’s Office have made this decision in order to prioritize the safety of everyone involved,” organizers said.
“We look forward to bringing back the Huntington boat parade in 2024.”
