Karen Tenenbaum, Tax Attorney, Dies at 64

Funeral services were held Tuesday for prominent tax attorney Karen Tenenbaum. She was 64.

After working for several other law firms, she founded the Melville-based tax firm Tenenbaum Law PC in 1996.

She specialized in representing clients on a variety of tax issues, from state or federal tax audits, collections, appeals and more. She earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting, a doctorate in law, and a master of law, taxation.

She was also active in educational work, leading discussions about tax issues, as well as promoting financial and business literacy for children.

Tenenbaum leaves her husband, Larry Tenenbaum. children Allison (and Matt) Rosenzweig, and Stacie (and Jason) Dubnoff, and four grandchildren.

Shiva will be held at the Tenenbaum home in Dix Hills and at her parents’ home in Hewlett Harbor on Wednesday and Thursday.

Services were held at Star of David Memorial Chapels in West Babylon.

Donations are welcome by the Temple Beth Torah- Sanctuary Renovation Fund.
