Scores of kids came out to Elwood Park Saturday to collect Easter eggs, dashing about on a brisk, sunny day to scoop them up.
Broken up by age into two waves, the event was marred only by a man who in the crowd shouted “Let’s go” before the start time, sending dozens of kids into an unstoppable surge onto the lawn in pursuit of the multi-colored eggs, and leaving behind other disapppointed kids and parents who hadn’t yet reached the starting line.
The event was managed by the Huntington Town Parks Department, with the help of community officers and Explorers from the Suffolk County Police Department.
