Man Gets 23 Years in Killing of Girlfriend in Elm Street Apartment

The man who admitted killing a woman in her Huntington Village apartment in 2021 has been sentenced to 23 years in prison.

District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney said  that Christopher Jackson killed his girlfriend, Mareasa Wescott. Police found her body on Jan. 18, 2021.

Jackson, 46, fled the Elm Street apartment, Tierney’s office said, but turned himself in a week later.

“We are satisfied that this lengthy sentence will keep this violent offender off the streets,” said Tierney. “This was a violent and brutal act and now this defendant is going to be held accountable for his indefensible actions.”

Jackson pleaded guilty in March to first-degree manslaughter. He will have five years of post-release supervision. He was sentenced by Judge Karen Wilutis.

Jackson surrendered to the Suffolk County Police Department on Jan. 25, 2021.
