MusicFest, Greenlawn Fire Department Fair This Weekend

Music on the water and on the street, food and games, and parades are among this weekend’s major events in Huntington.

The Greenlawn Fire Department’s annual fair gets underway Thursday with a parade through downtown Greenlawn, featuring George Kouroutis as grand marshal. On Aug. 1, Kouroutis saved the life of a young soccer player who collapsed at a practice by employing an Automatic External Defibrillator. The parade will include representatives of other departments, elected officials and many others.

The fair runs Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, starting each day at 7 p.m. except on Sunday, when it will begin at 5 p.m.  It will be held  on the grounds of fire headquarters on Boulevard Avenue and will have food, games of chance, rides for the kids and other attractions.

On Saturday, the 14th annual Huntington Lighthouse’s Musicfest will run from 11 am. to dusk, with bands playing from the lighthouse and listeners gathered on their boats in the harbor.
