Eight students who plan to pursue an education in the arts were honored with Otto Kahn Awards at Oheka Castle Wednesday.
Friends of Oheka said the students received $3,000 each. They are:
Victoria Befumo, Huntington High School
Fern Brazeau, Walt Whitman High School
Anabelle Bryant, Cold Spring Harbor High School
Katerina Damiano, Huntington High School
Christopher Hummel, Harborfields High School
Jacob Leshnower, Half Hollow Hills East High School
Andrew Noonan, Walt Whitman High School
Mark Shapiro, Half Hollow Hills East High School
The garden party, which featured many dressed up in Gatsby Era clothing, also honored Town Councilman Eugene Cook for his humanitarian contributions.
Friends of OHEKA has raised $200,000 for high school seniors who are pursuing an education in the arts. Friends of OHEKA, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection, preservation and public awareness of OHEKA castle.
