Pastor Honored for Commitment to Diversity

Pastor Dan Rivera of the Huntington Assembly of God has been named recipient of the  “Champion of Diversity” award for the 16th Suffolk County legislative district.

Legislator Rebecca Sanin noted his commitment to fostering inclusivity, celebrating cultural diversity, and advocating for marginalized communities.

In recognition of April as “Champions of Diversity Month”,  Sanin selected Rivera for his contributions to promoting diversity and inclusion throughout the 16th district.

Established by way of resolution in 2022 by the Suffolk County Legislature, “Champions of Diversity Month” recognizes individuals who embody openness in thinking, embrace differences, and actively participate in activities that promote inclusion and respect for diverse racial, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.

“I am humbled and grateful to receive this honor from Legislator Sanin and the Suffolk County Legislature,” said Pastor Dan Rivera. “Diversity is not just a buzzword – it is the essence of who we are as a community. Together, we can build a future where every individual is valued, respected, and embraced for their unique contributions.”
