Presidents’ Day Closings, Activities

Monday is Presidents Day, in honor of the founder of our country, President George Washington. That means banks and the Post Office are closed. The Town won’t pick up trash on Monday.

And so are school districts, which will take a weeklong break.

Many, but not all, public libraries are closed on Monday; check with yours before heading out the door.

Numerous organizations, from the Whaling Museum to the Vanderbilt Planetarium and Museum to the libraries are offering special programming this week, where youngsters can learn about decorating cupcakes; become acquainted with pets; or enjoy music ranging from sea chanteys to hip-hop.
