School Board Petition Deadline Set

If you’re interested in running for your local school board, the deadline for filing petitions is coming up.

Nominating petitions for election to the unpaid position of school board trustee must be delivered to the office of the school district clerk by 5 p.m. April 22.

The petition must be signed by at least 25 qualified district voters or 2 percent of the number of those who voted in the previous annual election, whichever number is greater, according to the New York State School Boards Association.

Voting on candidates and school budgets will be held May 21.

See your school district website for more information.
