Trump Supporters Protest Comedian in Huntington Stop

Supporters of former president Donald Trump protested outside the Paramount Sunday night where comedian Kathy Griffin was appearing as part of her ‘My Life on the PTSD List’ tour.

A caravan of about 17 vehicles, many festooned with Trump or American flags, and others carrying signs that denounced President Joe Biden as well as Griffin, came into downtown Huntington from Farmingdale and drove up and down in front of the theater, blasting horns, sounding music and shouting. Some riders cursing the president. One vehicle blasted an earsplitting locomotive horn, while another participant shook a cowbell out the window.

Others directed their anger at the comedian, who in 2017 held up a mask of Trump dripping with fake blood. That earned considerable opposition from many but Griffin has said it was meant as political satire, not a threat.

At one point, a man who was leaning out a vehicle window and shouting loudly got into an expletive-laden exchange with a woman passing by on the sidewalk, who expressed her lack of interest in becoming his partner. Still others on the sidewalk cheered on the convoy and shot photos as it went by. Three or four uniformed Suffolk County police were on hand near the entrance to the Paramount to keep an eye on the situation.

As the convoy stopped for several moments on its second pass by the Paramount, it came to rest next to a town park ranger who was on the street was identifying vehicles that had parked in handicapped and no-stopping zones. Some of the vehicles in the carvan had black tape across their licenses plates; another vehicle carried a Confederate flag plate.

One vehicle in the convoy, a black limo, bore the presidential seal on its door, with American themed pillows in the backseat.

The comedian had noted the planned protest earlier in the day, adding an image of a poster about the protest to her Instagram account. “This is the protest that is planned for my show tonight in Huntington, Long Island. I anxious to see what this group of losers has in mind,” Griffin wrote.

  1. I was there. It looks much bigger in the pictures than it was. 6 of 7 cars and trucks obstructing traffic. They had very right to be there was it was really a non-event.

  2. These people know they are breaking law by the fact that they cover their license plates. They are showing their distain for the constitution and decency.

  3. How can people still support Trump after all the harm he’s done to our country? He literally attacked the US and now says he can terminate the Constitution to stay in power. Have people forgotten about that? Or do they support it? Either way it’s disturbing.

      1. Actually, it’s all true – but cult members will defend their leader in spite of facts and common sense. Trying to change their mind is impossible, which is a quintessential symptom. Truth Social is not news. It’s his version of Communist Propaganda.

      2. “Do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION? A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution,” Trump wrote in a post on the social network Truth Social and accused “Big Tech” of working closely with Democrats. “Our great ‘Founders’ did not want, and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections!”

Those were his words on his social media platform.

I love when Trumpers refer to “fake news” but none will tell you what they actually follow. If you care about the country and our democracy, you wouldn’t vote for him.

  4. This is disgusting behavior. I’m ashamed that it happened in my hometown. Trump supporters are just like those who supported Adolf Hitler, the same mindless sickness of soul.
