Summer Concert Series Opens at Heckscher

The summer concert season got underway at Heckscher Park with three bands performing on the Rainbow stage.

A large and enthusiastic audience listened, clapped, sang with the bands and danced as the concert went on.  The Long Island tribute bands, including Foreign Journey and Van Hagar, played extensive sets of crowd favorites. As he played, Foreign Journey bassist Jeff Parrett posed several times for selfies with people in the crowd, or photobombed a group lined up in front of the stage.

The free summer series of performances continues Saturday, with a mix of music, dance and theater on the schedule. The series is sponsored by both the Huntington Arts Council and the Town of Huntington, which each produced its own lineup of entertainment.
