HuntingtonNow.com takes a look at local high school graduates and what they’re doing now.
Name: Christine Oddo
High School: St. Anthony’s High School
Year Graduated: 2013
Comment about your high school experiences: I was a transfer student at St. Anthony’s High School. Attending St. Anthony’s was my first educational experience
that incorporated religion into lesson plans. Although it was a different approach, I thoroughly enjoyed the combination of religion and academics. I was fortunate enough to meet a group of friends that, to this day, I still consider family. As they say, “Students today, Friars forever.”
Immediate post-high school (college, gap year, work, etc.): I attended the University of Connecticut in Storrs, from which I graduated with a degree in Political Science in May of 2017.
What you’re doing now (Including where): I am currently working as a Legislative Secretary for Councilman Ed Smyth in the Town of Huntington.
Comment about what you’re doing now: I consider myself extremely lucky to have found a job that allows me to work in the town that I grew up in and love so much. I am surrounded by an amazing group of people who are all willing to go above and beyond to get the job done. Working on behalf of the people in Huntington also allows me to stay up to date on the issues that are impacting our community and allows me to be part of solutions that benefit our residents. Aside from dealing with constituent services, we are constantly looking for ways to bring much needed services to the Town and its residents such as hosting NARCAN Training courses in conjunction with the State, and raising awareness for our local animal shelter to help cats and dogs find good homes.
Where do your parents or family live: My parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins are all proud Huntingtonians.
