Townwide Fund Chooses President

The Townwide Fund of Huntington has elected Janice Whelan as president for 2024-2026.

She manages her land use and zoning law practice in Huntington Village, serves as an alternate to the Town of Huntington Zoning Board of Appeals and coaches the Smithtown West High School Mock Trial Team for the Suffolk County Bar Association.

Whelan has served on the Townwide Fund as Grants Chair since 2015.

She attended the State University of New York at Stony Brook and Touro Law Center and lives with her family in Huntington.

Before going into private practice, she served as an assistant Suffolk County attorney, assistant Islip town attorney and assisted in the representation of several Long Island Village Zoning and Planning Boards.

The Townwide Fund of Huntington raises funds and builds connections among nonprofits serving residents of the Town of Huntington. Founded in 1961, the Townwide Fund partners with more than 30 local charitable organizations and bridges the gap between government support and the needs of community residents.
