Update: PSEG Reports Outages; Trees Down Around Huntington

 

About 60 customers lost power Wednesday as a rain and high winds swept through the area. There were multiple reports of trees down around Huntington, including Eaton’s Neck, Greenlawn, Centerport, Huntington, Melville, and Northport.

PSEG-LI said it was investigating the outages.

Outages were also reported in Eaton’s Neck.

Strong winds with gusts up to 60 MPH were expected to continue until about 6 a.m. A wind gust of 64 MPH was reported on Eaton’s Neck.

The National Weather Service said that damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines, and widespread power outages are possible. Road travel could be difficult, the NWS said.

New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible, the NWS said.

Rainfall is expected to continue Thursday while snow showers are possible Friday morning before 9 a.m.
