Rain once again canceled some events Saturday but not all.
The Walt Whitman High School homecoming parade was canceled, but the afternoon football game against Commack is still on. The homecoming celebration got underway Friday with a carnival that was packed with families who came to enjoy a petting zoo, a circus, food, a chance to smash a cream pie into a teacher’s face and more. Four alumni who were inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame will be honored at the game.
