Endorsements for Huntington Town Board, Suffolk Legislature

Candidates for election to town and county offices are collecting endorsements from individuals and organizations.

Here are just a few endorsements as reported recently by candidates.

Suffolk Legislature

16th District Legislator Manuel Esteban, Republican, Utility Workers Union of America, Local 393.

Democrat Rebecca Sanin, running in the 16th Legislative District: League of Conservation Voters.

Republican Suffolk Legislator Stephanie Bontempi, 18th District: Suffolk County Correction Officers Association and the Suffolk PBA, Suffolk County Detective Association, AME, SCCFA, Utility Workers Union of America Local 393 andThe Building & Construction Trades Council of Nassau & Suffolk Counties AFL-CIO.

Democrat Dr. Eve Meltzer-Krief, running in the 18th District, Suffolk chapter of the National Organization of Women, Laborers’ International Union of North America, Long Island Federation of Labor, Moms Demand Action, Sierra Club, Communications Workers of America.

Town Board

Democrat Jen Hebert: 2023 Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate Distinction, former State Sen. Jim Gaughran, Town Councilwoman Joan Cergol, Laborers’ International Union of North America.

Republican Theresa Mari  The North Shore Leader, a Nassau weekly newspaper whose publisher is married to the former town attorney, Deborah Misir; US Rep. Nick LaLota, R-Amityville, Huntington Conservative Party.

Democrat Don McKay, Sierra Club, New York State Italian-American PAC.

Brooke Lupinacci, Republican, also endorsed by the North Shore Leader, Italian-American PAC, Long Island Federation of Labor.

The election is Nov. 7. Early voting begins Oct. 28.
