Whole Foods Opening July 17 With Giveaways, New Products

It’s finally happening: the long-anticipated Whole Foods market in Huntington Station will open July 17 with a grand splash and a lineup that includes many local products.

Residents have been asking for the store for some time as the Huntington Shopping Center underwent extensive renovations and added several new stores.

The  43,916-square-foot store at 350 Walt Whitman Road will throw open its doors at 8 a.m., with rewards to shoppers–the first 300 customers in line will receive a limited-edition Huntington Station tote bag and Secret Saver coupon with offers up to $100 off.

Customers will also be treated to coffee from  Sail Away Coffee Co., muffins from Abe’s and a sunflower photo station from Tucker Farms.

The store is promising additions to its product lineup: new to Whole Foods Market suppliers L’Isolina PastaThe White MoustacheDon Carvajal Café and La Rossi Pizza, which will be exclusive to the Huntington Station store.

Other regional products that will be available include Vista Hermosa TortillasFamily Farmstead Dairy, Heidelberg Bread, Oliver’s Organic Eggs and Adirondack Ice Cream.

Full-service meat and seafood counters, as well as a cheese department are part of the lineup, as well as a beer section featuring more than 300 craft beers, including 40 local suppliers.

The company has partnered with local suppliers and organizations, including Helping Hand Rescue MissionLong Island Cares, and Island Harvest and will donate a Nourishing Our Neighborhoods van to We All We Got, Inc., along with $3,000 in products as part of the Stuff the Van event.
