7 Public Hearings Set for Town Board Meeting

The Huntington Town Board has scheduled seven public hearings for its monthly meeting Tuesday, including one involving the rezoning of a property to allow for  apartments.

Owner Peter Ambrosio has asked to change the zoning for his property at 20 Creek Road, Halesite, from R-5 residence to R-3M, which permits garden apartments. The  public hearing was approved at the June Town Board meeting.

Another hearing will consider adopting a zone change application for Equestrian Estates of Melville 2023, for inclusion in the Special Equestrian Center Overlay District for the property on the east side of Round Swamp Road, Melville.

Also scheduled for a public hearing is a proposal to ban trucks on Tanyard Lane, where neighbors have been complaining about traffic safety.
