Developer Withdraws Garden Apartment Zone Request

A public hearing scheduled for Tuesday night’s Huntington Town Board meeting involving apartments in Dix Hills has been canceled.

The developer of the property at 343 Deer Park Ave., Deepa LLC, has withdrawn its application for the site. The initial request was for a zone change from R-40 residence district to R-3M garden apartment special district for the property on the west side of Deer Park Avenue, north of Wolf Hill Road.

There was no immediate word on if or when the proposal might be resubmitted.

The canceled hearing is just one of several hearings or votes on housing issues scheduled for Tuesday’s meeting.
