HuntingtonNow.com is looking into who is funding candidates for this election. Our first story on Sept. 15 checked on donations to Democratic Town Board candidate Jennifer Hebert.
Next is Brooke Lupinacci, a Republican running for one of the two seats that will be available starting Jan.1. Lupinacci’s list shows far more contributors than Hebert, including several people affiliated with the town, attorneys, several auto companies, and building-related businesses, including engineers, construction and attorneys who frequently represent developers.
We will alternate between party affilations for this series of stories. Campaigns are expensive, and candidates have to spend a considerable amount of time raising funds from supporters to get their message out.
The election is Nov. 7.
