Community organizers are meeting Monday night in their opposition to plans for townhomes in Dix Hills.
They are collecting signatures in opposition to a zone change for properties that include Park Shore Day Camp, and a closed a landscape business and a flower shop, that, if approved, would allow for 180 units of luxury townhomes for those aged 55 and older.
The petition against the Vanderbilt Estates Dix Hills, with units priced $800,000 and up, is headlined “Stop Garden Apartments in Dix Hills: Oppose Vanderbilt Estates at Park Shore Camp.”
The groups are meeting at 6:45 p.m. at the Half Hollow Hills Library, 55 Vanderbilt Parkway, Dix Hills.
