Dix Hills Residents to Discuss Proposed Townhome Development

Community organizers are meeting Monday night in their opposition to plans for townhomes in Dix Hills.

They are collecting signatures in opposition to a zone change for properties that include Park Shore Day Camp, and a closed a landscape business and a flower shop, that, if approved, would allow for 180 units of luxury townhomes for those aged 55 and older.

The petition against the Vanderbilt Estates Dix Hills, with units priced $800,000 and up, is headlined “Stop Garden Apartments in Dix Hills: Oppose Vanderbilt Estates at Park Shore Camp.”

The groups are meeting at 6:45 p.m. at the Half Hollow Hills Library, 55 Vanderbilt Parkway, Dix Hills.
