H2M Staffers Walk to Support Breast Cancer Awareness

H2M architects + engineers  partnered with Pink Aid to host an office walk at several of its regional offices recently in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The event was organized by H2M’s Women’s Leadership Employee Resource Group, made up ofH2M staffers working to advance the cause of women in the architectural and engineering professions.

Employees at H2M’s Melville around the metropolitan area wore pink apparel and accessories while walking to raise awareness of breast cancer. In addition, members of the ERG raised money in support of Pink Aid, a Connecticut-based not-for-profit organization which provides.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, breast cancer is the second-most common form of cancer. Approximately 240,000 women get breast cancer and 42,000 die of the disease every year.

When caught early, breast cancer has a 5-year survival rate of 99%.
