Homecomings, LI Fall Festival and Rain on Saturday’s Schedule

Two high school homecomings and the Long Island Festival are on Saturday’s schedule but rainy weather could force a change in plans.

Huntington High School’s parade will leave from Gerard Street at 11:30 a.m., to Main Street and then head down New York Avenue, turn at Semon Road and the high school. The Blue Devils will host Northport at 2 p.m.

Commack’s homecoming game against Patchogue-Medford is scheduled for 3 p.m., preceded by a parade beginning at 12:45 p.m. Road closings:

  • Burr Rd, from Burr Intermediate School to Townline Rd.
  • Townline Rd, from Burr Rd to Scholar Ln.
  • Scholar Ln, from Townline Rd to Coconut Dr.

The Long Island Fall Festival gets underway Friday night and runs through Monday. The Columbus Day parade is scheduled for noon Sunday.

The National Weather Service is predicting showers starting Friday night, and a possible thunderstorm Saturday. Sunday, however, is supposed to be mostly sunny.
