Rain Forecast Washes Out Huntington Homecoming Parade

Huntington High School’s planned homecoming parade on Saturday has been canceled because of the forecast of heavy rain. The football game with Northport is still scheduled for 2 p.m.

The homecoming parade involves the Blue Devil marching band and floats created by each high school class.

The district moved the judging of the floats to 5 p.m. Friday at the high school.

“We recognize that much work has gone into the planning and preparation for the parade and it is indeed disappointing that we must cancel,” Superintendent Christian Bowen wrote to parents.”If the weather improves by halftime, we will do our best to put on a halftime show including the Huntington Blue Devil Marching Band and Huntington Highsteppers for those in attendance.”
