The Marines landed at Walt Whitman High School Wednesday, putting on a demonstration of their drilling skills, music and flight operations.
As the silent drill team marched across the football field, they showed off their precision and discipline and rifle handling skills.
The crowd of students, staff, local veterans and others cheered them on. They were also entertained by a Marine band, and got a chance to check out Marine helicopters that landed nearby as well as other military vehicles.
The exhibition was part of Fleet Week in New York and the lead-up to Memorial Day.
