Meeting Set Wednesday on Melville Route 110 Future

Another “listening session” to collect ideas on the future of the Route 110 corridor in Melville is scheduled for Wednesday.

Huntington Town Supervisor Ed Smyth has been seeking community input for an earlier proposal dubbed the Melville Employment Center that involvesland use and zoning, including office/employment uses, industrial, residential, and mixed uses and open space, the possible impact on the school system, as well as traffic issues and public transportation.

The original proposal goes back to the Petrone administration.

Earlier sessions have brought forth ideas involving the environment, turning corporate offices into housing, public services and more.

Residents are invited to attend Wednesday’s meeting, set for 7-9 p.m. at the West Hollow Middle School, 250 Old East Neck Rd, Melville.
