Orchestra Performance to Wrap Up Summer Arts Festival

The Huntington Summer Arts Festival wraps up Sunday night with a performance by Orchestra Long Island, preceded by a pre-show talk with David Stewart Wiley, the group’s conductor.

The performance is scheduled for 7 p.m; the Wiley talk is set for 6:15 p.m.

The truncated schedule from the Huntington Arts Council doesn’t mean the end of entertainment at Heckscher this summer. The town Parks Department has stepped into the music programming business, including arranging for the return of the popular group Gentlemen of Soul on Aug. 12, who performed last year at an “Old Skool” concert, and an appearance by Sal Valentinetti, who will be singing Frank Sinatra hits on Aug. 19. The Parks Department also booked the Zaco Brown Tribute Band, which performed Friday night.
