Update: Parent Accused of Making Threat Against Half Hills School

A Patchogue man was arrested and charged Thursday with issuing a threat  against Half Hollow Hills East High School, Suffolk County police said.

Christopher Ryan called the Half Hollow Hills East High School, at 50 Vanderbilt Parkway,  and threatened to shoot and blow up the school, police said.

The districts said, “This past weekend a district parent left several inappropriate messages on the voicemail of a central office administrator including threatening statements towards the administrator and others. The district contacted the Suffolk County Police Department and filed a report and has been cooperating with their ongoing investigation. The district has also barred the individual from all district properties and school-sponsored events.

Second Precinct Crime Section officers arrested Ryan near his residence at approximately 3:40 p.m. Thursday

Ryan, 42, was charged with Making a Threat of Mass Harm, a Class B Misdemeanor.

He is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on
Friday.

Note: Police corrected his name after originally identifying him as Ryan Christopher.
