The forecast of rain on Saturday led organizers of Cow Harbor Day weekend to bring the decorated boat contest forward to Friday. But the Great Cow Harbor 10k is still set to get underway at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, with 5,000 runners on the hilly run from Laurel Avenue and end in downtown Northport.
The race and a 2k fun run/walk support the Special Olympics and other local organizations, like the Northwell Health Foundation, the Veterans Administration, and the Ecumenical Lay Council Food Pantry.
