The Walt Whitman Shops is locked in a legal battle with a restaurant that has not opened, according to a lawsuit, the Long Island Business News reported Friday.
Whitman Mall LLC sued Fat Bones LLC, which does business as Morgan’s Brooklyn Barbecue and Tiny’s Cantina, for more than $381000, LIBN said.
The mall’s suit is in response to a suit filed last week by the restaurant’s owners against Simon Property Group and two of its malls, Walt Whitman Shops and King of Prussia Mall, for breach of contract, unjust enrichment, willful misrepresentation and civil conspiracy. The restaurateur’s suit came after the mall sent a letter in April demanding back rent of $351,322, LIBN said.
