Town Board OKs Agreements With Organizations

The Huntington Town Board recently approved agreements with several organizations to provide services to residents.

  • Designated the Long Islander, at 44 Broadway, Greenlawn and the Observer at 1 Brookside Dr., Smithtown as the official newspapers for legal notices from the town of Huntington.
  • Authorized Supervisor Ed Smyth to execute an agreement between the town and the Huntington Human Services Institute to implement special programs and events including but not limited to the celebration of black history and Hispanic heritage. The contract is for a maximum of $5,000.
  • Childcare Council Suffolk County:  parent leader initiative for $9,500, Childcare enhancement, $31,500
  • Family Service League: emergency housing relocation $58,000, work plus $29,500, SeniorNet $9,750
  • Federation of Organizations: $10,220, foster grandparents program
  • Huntington Breast Cancer Action Coalition: Lend a Helping Hand, $10,000, Students in Science $4,800
  • Literacy Suffolk, $9,500
