Columbus Day, Holiday Spectacular Approved

The Huntington Town Board has approved two special events coming up in October and November.

The board voted last week to authorize the co-sponsorship of the Columbus Day parade on Oct. 8, with Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America.

The parade will march west along Main Street from the John J. Flanagan Senior Center, preceded by a program 10:45 a.m.

It also approved the use of Wall Street for the Holiday Spectacular between Nov. 25 and Jan. 1. The Huntington Village Business Improvement District event will include a huge Christmas tree, lights, music, and more.

Wall Street will remain closed to vehicles between Main Street and Gerard Street for the duration of the celebration.
