Dortoni Bakery One Step Closer to Opening

Work is underway on the former Pier 1 property on East Jericho Turnpike, moving plans for a bakery and a Jersey Mike’s one step closer to opening.

Crews are working on water pipes, digging in the parking lot of the 7,000-square foot building at 7 East Jericho Turnpike, Huntington Station.

The  Huntington Station store was one of hundreds closed by Pier 1 in 2020 as the company declared bankruptcy.

Dortoni Bakery, based in Levittown, also opened a shop at  11 Vanderbilt Motor Pkwy, Commack in 2019. Dortoni bought the Huntington Station building in 2021. It also has bakeries in Port Jefferson and East Norwich.
