The Huntington Hibernians AOH Division 4 brought their recipes and appetite for chili to a cookoff Saturday in Northport.
Updated with winners.
Offerings featured every kind of ingredient imaginable, all to raise money for scholarships in memory of Hibernian Gerard M. Molloy, who was a pastry chef.
Corned beef and hash, butternut squash, hominy, wasabi, chicken, bratwurst, pork, turkey, beef, beans–red, Great Northern, yelllow, black– tomato soup, and kashmiri chili power, cumin, jalapenos, cayenne powder–were just some of the ingredients making up dishes with names such as Uncle Paulie’s Autumn Chili, Three-Alarm Firehouse Chili and Achili’s Tendon.
One cook presented a large bottle of Tums with his dish.
The Hibernians’ fourth annual cookoff was hosted by Napper Tandy’s Irish Pub.
