St. Anthony’s to Host Bagpipe Concert

St. Anthony’s HIgh School will host an afternoon of Celtic music on Feb. 4  with bagpipe concert that will feature several bands from around the area.

The event, from 2-5 p.m. will also have food, raffles, and other prizes available.

Intermission with coffee and soda bread being served. Tickets are $20 cash at the door.
The Friars band, which was founded in 2010, will be joined by:
  • MacMillan Grade 2 Pipe Band from Washington D.C.
  • Roisin Dubh Grade 3 Pipe Band from East Islip
  • Jesse Ofgang performing uilleann pipes, border pipes & low whistle
  • West Milford High School Pipe Band from West Milford, NJ
  • St. Anthony’s High School Pipe Band

 The Friars band performs at all major school events, marches in multiple Patrick’s Day parades including New York City and competes around the tri-state area.  The band is under the direction of  Michael Saxer and Brothe  Mark Waldmann, and is offered as a credited music class where students can learn to play the bagpipes with no musical experience required.
